Project Overview

Advanced Engineering Group delivered the design, fabrication, and installation of large-diameter stainless-steel pipework within a clean water treatment works, operating under strict hygienic and potable water standards. The project involved the installation of 316 stainless-steel pipework, supporting brackets, fixings, and associated mechanical components, all engineered to meet drinking water and contamination-prevention requirements.

The works began with in-house mechanical design, where pipe spools and support bracketry were developed specifically for offsite fabrication. Each component was engineered with a focus on hygienic compatibility, structural integrity, and ease of installation. Surface finishes, joint alignment, and connection methods were carefully specified to ensure full compliance with potable water regulations.

Offsite fabrication was carried out in a controlled workshop environment, allowing precise welding, finishing, and assembly of stainless-steel pipe spools under hygienic conditions. This approach minimised contamination risk while ensuring consistently high-quality workmanship across all fabricated components.

Once fabrication was complete, pipe spools and brackets were transported to site using company-owned lorries, providing full control over handling and delivery scheduling. Installation presented a significant logistical challenge due to the pipework being located within a deep reservoir, requiring all components to be lowered through a service hatch. These operations were planned and executed by Advanced Engineering Group’s experienced in-house rigging team, with all lifting operations carefully engineered to ensure safety and accuracy.

On site, the prefabricated pipework and brackets were craned into position, aligned, and mechanically secured using fixings suitable for hygienic applications. Throughout installation, strict cleanliness protocols were enforced, including protective coverings, controlled access, and careful handling of stainless-steel surfaces to maintain system integrity.
