Project Overview

Advanced Engineering Group delivered the full design, fabrication, installation, and testing of a modular heat pump system, manufactured and assembled entirely in-house. The system was constructed around custom-fabricated pipe skids and supporting frames, engineered to integrate both stainless-steel pipework and cable containment within a compact, modular layout.

The project adopted an offsite fabrication and assembly approach, allowing the heat pump skids to be fully assembled, pre-welded, and tested within our workshop environment. This significantly reduced on-site installation time while maintaining high levels of quality control and safety. The modular design enabled each skid to be self-contained and mobile, allowing the units to be wheeled into position using heavy-duty castor wheels rather than requiring complex lifting operations.

All stainless-steel pipework was fabricated in-house and pre-welded where permanent joints were required. Flanged connections were incorporated to allow precise alignment and efficient integration on site. Prior to delivery, the modular skids underwent factory acceptance testing (FAT) in collaboration with the client and the main contractor, Contract Astatine, verifying alignment, weld integrity, and system readiness before transportation.

Following delivery to site using our own transport fleet, the skids were positioned and integrated by our site teams, working in close coordination with workshop and electrical teams. Pipework connections were completed, alignment verified, and all systems pressure tested to confirm mechanical integrity. The installation was completed efficiently with minimal disruption to the client’s facility.
