Project Overview
Electrical installation works were delivered for the new Cambuslang Fire Station on the outskirts of Glasgow, comprising the design, supply, and installation of a complete electrical infrastructure to support critical emergency response operations.
The project included main power distribution from the incoming utility supply through a main distribution board (MDB), feeding sub-distribution boards serving lighting, small power, HVAC systems, and specialised firefighting equipment. Resilience was a key requirement, with emergency power provided via an automatic transfer switch (ATS) connected to a standby generator and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system to maintain continuous operation of essential circuits including communications, control panels, and emergency lighting.
Energy-efficient LED lighting with motion control was installed throughout, alongside external floodlighting for vehicle bays. Structured cabling systems supported fire alarms, CCTV, communications, and building management controls. All installations were completed in compliance with relevant electrical and fire safety standards, ensuring safe, reliable, and maintainable systems within a critical public service environment.
