Project Overview
Advanced Cabling Contractors were appointed to carry out alterations to the existing High Voltage (HV) ring at the Bentall Shopping Centre in London, as part of enabling works for a new cinema installation constructed on the roof of the building.
The scope required rerouting the HV ring between two 11kV substations along its original route to accommodate the new development. Due to the critical nature of the HV network supplying the shopping centre, the works required detailed pre-planning, strict sequencing, and execution within a tightly controlled outage window.
New HV cable sections were installed in advance of the scheduled shutdown. During the planned overnight outage, two HV jointing teams worked simultaneously to complete the required connections. Adequate curing time was allowed for the resin joints, followed by comprehensive testing and inspection to confirm integrity and continuity of the HV circuit prior to power restoration.

Project Outcome
