HV Cable Installation, Glasgow

Project Overview

HV and LV infrastructure cabling works were undertaken in Glasgow to facilitate the construction of new buildings and the installation of an additional substation connected to the existing 11 kV network.

The project required the safe disconnection, diversion, and reconnection of both high-voltage and low-voltage circuits to accommodate the new development. Careful sequencing and coordination were essential to maintain supply continuity while integrating the upgraded infrastructure into the live 11 kV network.

All cable terminations were completed in accordance with approved specifications, with protective devices installed and verified to ensure system integrity. Comprehensive testing, including continuity, insulation resistance, and polarity checks, was carried out to confirm compliance with electrical standards and reliable operation prior to re-energisation.

Cabling Services Delivered

  • Diversion and rerouting of existing HV and LV infrastructure cabling
  • Disconnection and reconnection of circuits within live network environment
  • Integration of new substation into 11 kV network
  • Installation and termination of HV and LV cables
  • Installation and verification of protective devices
  • Continuity, insulation resistance, and polarity testing
