Project Overview
The construction on the new Cambuslang Fire Station on the outskirts of Glasgow required a full electrical installation of a fire station involves the design, supply, and installation of a complete electrical system to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all essential services.
This includes the main power distribution from the incoming utility supply through a main distribution board (MDB) feeding sub-distribution boards for lighting, power sockets, HVAC, and specialized firefighting equipment. Emergency power backup is provided via an automatic transfer switch (ATS) connected to a standby generator and an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system to maintain continuous operation of critical circuits such as communication systems, control panels, and emergency lighting.
The installation also includes energy-efficient LED lighting with motion sensors, external floodlights for vehicle bays, grounding and bonding systems for electrical safety, and structured cabling for fire alarm, CCTV, and communication networks. All works are carried out in compliance with local electrical codes, fire safety standards, and NFPA regulations to ensure reliability, safety, and ease of maintenance.
